Permanent Specialist in Small Animal Surgery - Australia

Practice: They have recently moved into a purpose-designed new hospital. Imaging facilities include fluoroscopy, 16 slices CT, and a 1.5T MRI, with dedicated radiographers. They have an extensive array of surgical equipment for complex orthopaedic, soft tissue, and neurosurgical cases. Patient care is enhanced by a 24-hour intensive care unit.
Team: Their team consists of 2 surgeons, 3 medicine clinicians, 3 neurologists, a radiologist, full-time specialist anaesthetist, and a Specialist Oncologist.
Role:
- They are looking for a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
- Their specialist veterinary jobs are available to suitably qualified Vets.
- They pride themselves on being a patient-focused practice and delivering treatment that has the patient’s best interest in mind.
- They also believe in a team approach to patient care, recognising that optimum patient care may require the involvement of more than one specialist.
Hours: The position involves a 4-day working week. Work permit/visa sponsorship is available to the right candidate.
About You:
- The ideal candidate would be eligible to register as a specialist in Victoria. However, applicants that have completed their residency training are encouraged to apply.
- This position requires interaction with a large team of specialists, veterinarians, and nurses.
- Good communications skills and the ability to work as a team are essential.
- A strong commitment to continued professional development is also desirable.
