We are working with an independent practice in Cornwall that requires a small animal permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their mixed animal practice in Cornwall as soon as possible.
The independent practice in Cornwall is traditionally owned, rather than part of a group or corporate chain which is ran as very much part of the local community, retaining its friendly and caring approach whilst continuing to improve and develop the standards and services offered. They have a team of 7 RVNs as well as SVNs working to support 8 Vets. Their staff is always on hand to help and assist pet owners and farmers. Their clients can be assured of a friendly voice on the end of the phone and a welcoming smile when patients come in to see us at the practice. They have a genuine love for all animals and will do their utmost to ensure that pets receive the best possible care.
This is a permanent full-time position working 38 hours on average per week. You will work to an 8-week rota, where some weeks you would work 20 hours per week and others 45, it works out about an average of about 38 hours per week when you work out the median over an 8 week period.
You will be working in all areas of nursing, this will be very hands-on and includes general nursing duties.
There is one night a week on call and you would be required to work one in eight weekends.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy being a proactive member of a supportive team whilst using their own initiative. The practice will consider nurses of all levels of experience but you will be qualified and registered with the RCVS.

Out of Hours: 1:5 nights on call

Salary: Competitive salary dependant on experience + 24 days holidays, CPD encouraged and funded
To qualify for this position you must be fully registered with the RCVS and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
