Our client is looking to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon on a permanent basis to start at their practice in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
The Client
This practice is 100% small animal with 5 veterinary surgeons. They offer a wide range of services; some of which include MRI Scanning, ultrasound, X-ray, medical health screening and orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
They are a VNTP with excellent hospitalisation and diagnostic facilities (state-of-the-art ultrasound, ECG, and in-house MRI); competent, helpful RVNs and 24-hour nursing cover. Nurses do the blood tests, X-rays, fluids, anaesthesia, etc., vets chase diagnoses and operate.
They also provide referrals in the following areas; diagnostic imaging – in-house MRI scanning, colour Doppler, and electrocardiography. Spinal disease – Neurological workup, disc disease, spinal fractures, lumbosacral diseases, cervical spondylomyelopathy. Orthopaedics - orthopaedic workup, arthrotomy, arthrodesis, complex fracture management, musculoskeletal MRI. Soft Tissue Surgery - ear, nose and throat surgery, thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, urogenital surgery, perineal surgery and surgical oncology.
The Role
They require a colleague with excellent communication skills with an interest in orthopaedics. Their ideal candidate enjoys general practice but rises to the challenge presented by complex medical investigations and interesting surgical cases.
The role is full time which will include one night a week OOH (which usually involves very little work). The weekend rota is 1 in 5 with 2 days leave given for each weekend worked.
In return they are offering a salary is flexible and negotiable which is dependent on experience and knowledge. The CPD on offer includes an annual 5-day CPD allowance (time-off and funding). They have a generous holiday system of approximately 9 weeks this can be shortened to 6 weeks and will be reflected in the salary. A spacious recently modernised flat is available if required.
