We have a fantastic opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive 15 vet team Tier 3 hospital in Maidstone, Kent. The practice is looking for an enthusiastic first opinion vet to join them on a full-time permanent basis.
The Practice:
• Well established tier 3 practice in Kent
• To join a team of 15 Vets (directors/ first opinion & referral vets/ dedicated night vets)
Our client was established roughly 100 years ago, with their current, purpose-built hospital opening in 1990. They are the first practice in the area to offer tier 3 hospital facilities and procedures, and they continue to offer their patients a hospital that is accredited to the highest standard.
They have 4 highly experienced and exceptionally skilled directors who run this small animal practice. They each have different areas of expertise and take a particular personal interest in various veterinary medicine.
Facilities within the practice include 5 examination rooms, 2 fully equipped surgical theatres, dedicated dog ward with specialised oxygen kennel, dedicated cat ward and intensive care cage, isolation facilities, fully equipped in-house laboratory with designated technicians, x-ray suite, diagnostics (ultrasonography & endoscopy) dental suite, radiography, diagnostic ultrasonography, and endoscopy.
The Role:
You will be joining the skilled first opinion team, which comprises 6 vets plus RVN’s, who are committed to providing the highest standards of first opinion clinical care at all times.
This is a full-time position, with shifts on a rota basis. There will be no OOH, as this is covered by the hospital’s own on-site emergency team. Further details of rota will happily be discussed at interview stage.
The Candidate:
The practice is seeking an enthusiastic first opinion vet, who is confident with consultations and general surgery and able to offer excellent customer care. You should be a professional team player, who is willing to demonstrate the gold standard policy that the hospital already provides.
The successful applicant will be an MRCVS, who is fluent in written and spoken English and holds well-rounded general practice skills.
Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. Benefits include paid for RCVS, BVA, BSAVA, VDS and AVIVA private health care (value of these £2,250) with subsidised membership of local Living-Well Gym. CPD allowance is five days and £1,500 per annum.
