We are currently working with an independent small animal practice based in Chelmsford, Essex, who are looking to take on an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their principal Vet.
The Practice:
The practice has its own purpose-built pet clinic, that is based on the same premises as their original Equine clinic. Since opening the small animal department the team has gone from strength to strength, experiencing a large increase in clientele, a consequence of the high standard of care given to pets. The practice puts a strong emphasis on the continuity of care, meaning clients revisit the same vet and build a strong relationship with them offering fantastic customer service. The practice has a friendly and approachable team of staff who believe in providing veterinary care with honesty and compassion for both clients and pets. They are currently operating as a 1 vet practice with 1 RVN but they are looking to expand to 2 vets and 2 RVNs.
The Role:
This is a permanent full-time position, working 8-hour shifts between 8.30 am and 7 pm. Saturday hours will be shared on a rota with the other veterinary surgeon. There are no out-of-hours required, as these are covered by a local practice. The days will be a mixture of consults and surgeries. At the moment they have consults in the morning and later afternoon with operations taking place in the middle of the day.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience and will be confident to consult alone and undertake routine operations. The practice is looking for an outgoing, confident vet who will fit in well with the existing members of staff.
