We are currently working with an independent mixed practice based in West Yorkshire that has experienced increased growth since it became first established in the 1960’s.  Their team now treat animals of all shapes and sizes from Oldham to Wakefield and Leeds down to Sheffield.

They are now able to offer an enthusiastic, hardworking small animal veterinary surgeon [preferably with a keen interest in orthopaedics] the prospect of joining their amazing team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:
This is a flourishing RCVS mixed clinic [SA 70%/Large 20%/Equine 10% split] with a main hospital and five branch surgeries.  They are currently in the process of investing in a major refurbishment of their hospital which will be completed in 2018 and provide the latest in diagnostic equipment and facilities.   The practice offers extensive medical and surgical facilities and prides itself on providing ‘Total Care’ of their clients’ pets.  They currently employ 25 vets, 23 of which are full-time and 24 RVNs plus support staff.  This is a very busy practice where their clients’ pets can benefit from 3 consulting rooms, 2 surgical theatres, dental suite, large kennels, and prep area as well as CT scanner, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscopy bitch spays, plus hydrotherapy and rehab area and behavioural therapy.

The Role:
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday 8.15 -19.00.  The weekend rota will include 1:10 full weekend working Saturday morning 9.00-12.00 and Sunday 9.00-11.00 with the remainder of the time being on call with a ½ day off during the week, plus 1:3.5 Saturday morning 9.00-12.00.

There is also an out of hours rota that includes 1:10 OOHs during the week.

They operate to 10-minute consults and use the Merlin Vetspace [Voyageur] computer system.

The Candidate:
This is a terrific chance for a small animal veterinary surgeon with an orthopaedic bias and desire to [although not essential] specialise in this area and take a certificate to grow and develop with the practice.  The ideal applicant will be familiar with routine veterinary practice procedures and will more than likely be a minimum of 3 - 4 years’ post graduated experience.  Enthusiastic, hardworking, dedicated and a good communicator with a willingness to work as part of a team and continue their learning and development are ideal qualities required for this position. The successful candidate will be well remunerated and supported.
