We are currently working on behalf of an independent practice in Selby, North Yorkshire, who are looking for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team.
They will consider applications of varied experience levels, including new graduates.
The Practice:
Our clients' mission is to deliver professional veterinary care that pets would choose for themselves at their two sites. Their priority is not only to provide them with complete diagnostics and treatment when they are ill but also to offer the best preventative health advice at all life stages.
Members of their veterinary and nurse teams will be available around the clock 365 days a year to provide emergency treatment within their own clinic.
They currently have a dedicated team of 26 people consisting of experienced Vets, qualified and trainee Nurses reception and administration staff across 2 sites
The Role:
It is a full-time position working 4 days per week (ideally Tuesday-Friday) starting at 9.00 and finishing between 18.30/19.00 (last appointment at 18.15)
There is 1 night on call per week with the assistance of a veterinary Nurse and a Surgeon to help where necessary but can be flexible, 1:5 Saturday 9.00-16.00, 1:5 Saturday 9.00-16.00 then on call for the rest of the weekend. Following the weekend on call, you would get the following Friday off. Consults are 15 minutes. There is some basic accommodation available if necessary. This is beneficial when on call or is suitable temporarily if you are relocating. The out of hours rota/on call rota can be flexible
The Candidate:
They are a busy small animal practice with a varied caseload to ensure you will get the experience you need to learn and build on your current knowledge. They are an experienced team so have the facilities to provide you will all the support you need.
An experienced candidate would have the opportunity to work sole charge at nearby branch practice. New Grads would get one dedicated morning to operate with an experienced Vet and opportunities to operate most of the other days.
There is some basic accommodation available if necessary. This is beneficial when on call or is suitable temporarily if you are relocating.
The ideal candidate for this position you must be friendly, offer good customer service and be keen to learn. You must also have a clean driving licence and your own vehicle.
