A great Independent practice in the West Midlands (near to the border with Worcestershire) is looking to recruit a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Practice:
The practice has been established since the early 90's. They pride themselves on providing high-quality veterinary care for pets, utilising the latest advances in veterinary knowledge alongside a wide array of specialist equipment including high specification in-house laboratory machines. Currently they have an operating theatre, x-ray, in-house laboratory, biochemistry, haematology, electrolyte, an isolation unit, hospital ward, dentistry, blood pressure monitor, ultrasound, orthopaedics and exotic pet services.
The surgery operates a 24/365 in-house emergency service for registered clients, ensuring the most recent clinical history is available to the vet treating your pet, at the location where your pet is normally seen.
The Role:
The position is to work as a full-time veterinary surgeon, 40 hours per week. Working hours start from 9:30 am and the surgery closes at 7:30 pm. There are set times for consults and operations which vary on a rota, and the vet will have half a day off during the week. There is a weekend rota of 1:4 which would involve consults on a Saturday morning from 9:30 am until 2.00 pm, as well as Sunday between 10.00 am-12.00 pm. The vet will be required to remain on call for the weekend, and there is one night on call required each week. When working on call for the weekend an extra half day off is given during the week.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a friendly and competent vet, with a good working attitude. The practice is willing to consider applicants of all experience levels but would prefer a vet with some experience in practice. In return, they can offer a salary of £25,000 for a new graduate, up to £40,000 for an experienced vet, along with a CPD allowance of £1500, 28 days holiday (increasing with service) as well as VDS fees.
