We are currently recruiting on behalf of an independent small animal practice based in West Sussex who is looking to take on a permanent Veterinary Surgeon on a full-time basis.
The Practice:
The practice builds long-term relationships with their patients and owners. They believe that healthcare is about knowing, understanding and enabling choice and that welfare of its patients, clients, and staff is fundamental to achieving effective care. The practice intends to remain small, personal and approachable. They offer conventional medicine and surgery, and combine it with homeopathy, acupuncture, herbs, and nutraceuticals where indicated. They are evolving a practice offering truly integrated healthcare for animals running a team of 4 vets and 3 registered veterinary nurses. They are fully equipped with ultrasound, digital x-ray, in-house labs and more which enable the vets to offer the highest standards of care.
The Role:
They are looking for a friendly and passionate vet who will be open-minded to the idea of using alternative methods in combination with conventional medicine and surgery. The role is to work full-time, 5 weekdays from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, with a Saturday morning rota of 1:2. Saturday morning hours are from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm. There is no out of hours requirement. Sole charge is possible but likely to be rare.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in practice. The vet will have a true passion for animal care and will be open-minded in terms of alternative medicine and surgeries. An interest in poultry and game birds would be a bonus as two of the vets are involved in caring for these species at the branch practice. In return, the practice is looking to offer a salary of between £35,000 to £40,000, along with negotiable CPD and 5 weeks holiday.
