The Role: An established and well-respected veterinary group is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated team in Braintree.

Support: This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive, collaborative environment, benefiting from both clinical autonomy and the resources of a wider veterinary network.

Location: This small animal veterinary practice has been serving the community for over 40 years, expanding from a rural clinic to four branches in Essex. All practices are within a 45 min drive from the hospital practice in Saffron Waldon

Practice: The Saffron Walden location offers 24-hour inpatient care, while day surgeries are conducted across all branches. Services include routine check-ups, vaccinations, dental care, and various surgical procedures. The practice is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

Team: The team is committed to high-quality, compassionate care for pets and their owners, with a strong focus on collaboration and professional development.

Hours: Part-time Thursdays & Fridays, OOH rota and no weekends

Branchwork: Support across multiple branches as needs

Duties: As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care, working alongside experienced clinicians, nurses, and support staff. You will have the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, perform surgical procedures, and provide expert medical advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct 15-minute consultations, diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions
  • Advise clients on preventative care and long-term pet health management
  • Perform routine and emergency surgeries based on skillset
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director to uphold high standards of care
  • Participate in CPD training and best practice sharing
  • Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
