Facilities: They are a well-equipped small friendly practice that loves learning and teaching, established for 62 years on the current site they are part of the community. Large numbers of clients have been registered with them for many years and these long-term relationships are key to their success and always remain important to them. 

Team: You will be joining the supportive team of experienced Vets, RVNs, and supporting team members. Sharing all their knowledge is something they love to do, and your opinion and input matter to them. They live and breathe by the unique team approach, and they thrive with that ethos. Overall, they are looking for someone who takes joy in coming to work and offering excellent patient care, utilising fear-free techniques. 

Role: They are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team at GKG Vets in Newbury. The role is the full mix of veterinary nursing, no day is the same. They actively encourage the nurses to fully use their skills in taking radiographs, taking blood samples, and starting intravenous fluids in addition to the more routine tasks. You will also take care of in-patients, and nurse clinics, monitoring of anaesthesia, assisting in theatre, stock ordering & control. They are developing the nursing clinics with most of the diabetics managed by the nursing team. 

Hours: Work/life balance is important to them therefore they are open to suggestions on the working days/hours. For example, they can offer flexibility around school runs/childcare, etc. They haven’t set the hours per week as they would like to discuss this with the right person however, the normal working week is 40 hours, Monday – Friday with shifts ranging from 8am to 5pm and 10am – 7pm. Saturday morning are 1:4/5 and this is paid as overtime plus there is no OOH.

Salary: Up to £33,000 DOE plus benefits
