Permanent Veterinary Surgeon, Wirral

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon in the Wirral, Merseyside on a full or part-time basis. The practice is looking for a vet with a minimum of 3 years of experience, they have no preference for medical or surgical bias - they are looking for an all-rounder!

The Practice

The practice is a modern and progressive practice but with an unashamedly old-school ethos. This is a very busy friendly family orientated practice, in the Wirral, Merseyside. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and they are always committed to providing exceptional veterinary services. They have a friendly team in the practice with varying special interests from orthopaedics to soft tissue surgery and medicine, with some in the process of training for further specialist professional qualifications. The practice is fully equipped to provide high-quality surgical care seven days a week, with multiple consultation rooms, kennel rooms, surgical suites, laboratories, and dispensaries which enable them to provide good quality health care.

The Role

Part-Time Position Information

  • The role is 2-3 days per week (i.e 17 – 26 hours per week), set working days, shift times, and weekend per rota
  • They require a weekend cover with this role of 1 full weekend per 4-week rota (8:30 am-5:30 pm shifts) but could offer more weekend work if this is preferable. The weekday shift times are 9 am – 6:45 pm (1-hour lunch)
  • Based in the main branch weekdays but with weekend shifts at a sister branch
  • Mainly sole charge work but our Clinical Director is on-site in the main branch for support
  • No OOH
  • No inpatient duties
  • Career progression is available in practice and across the group

OR Full-Time Position Information

  • The role is 5 days per week, 37.5 - 40 hours per week. Set working days, shift times, and weekend per rota
  • They require weekend cover of 1 full weekend per 4-week rota (8:30 am-5:30 pm shifts) but could offer more weekend work if this is preferable. Weekday shift times available are 9 am – 6:45 pm | 8:30 am – 5 pm | 9:45 am – 6:45 pm
  • Based between two branches on set weekdays and weekend shifts in branch
  • Mainly sole charge work but our Clinical Director is on-site in the main branch for support
  • No OOH
  • No inpatient duties
  • Career progression is available in practice and across the group

The Candidate

Our client is looking for a small animal veterinary surgeon that has a minimum of 3 years of experience. They have no preference to medical or surgical bias - they are looking for an all-rounder! All shifts contain consulting and theatre sessions.
