Practice: Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, providing a variety of interesting cases and opportunity to improve your skills. The practice has in the region of 80 nurses across the hospital.

Facilities: They are a multidisciplinary referral centre based in Ringwood, Hampshire, offering a wide range of specialist veterinary services. They have recognised specialists in the fields of anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging, spinal surgery, soft tissue surgery. They also have an animal rehabilitation team.

Role: You will be encouraged to build on your existing knowledge and skills with regular taught sessions, patient-side training, instruction in advanced anaesthetic equipment including mechanical ventilation and be involved in clinical research. Applicants must have a passion for anaesthesia, work well within a team and be willing to contribute to the training and supervision of junior staff.

Duties: You will be responsible for anaesthetic planning, vascular access, monitoring and management of complications during anaesthesia in conjunction with the supervising anaesthetist. You will also support ward nurses in the management of critical and post-operative patients in the intensive care unit.

Hours: This is a full-time permanent role, averaging 38 hours per week with 1:5 weekends on call and various rotation options.

Applicant RequirementsThey are looking for an experienced nursing professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment. You should possess the confidence to take initiative and actively contribute to the care of their patients. Previous experience in a referral practice is beneficial.

salary: £38,000 DOE
